Meet the team
Co-Owner & Executive Director
After a chance meeting with Ellen’s mom in 1990, Kevin began his educational career at The Park Preschool. He spent three years under Ellen’s tutelage as an assistant teacher, before having the opportunity to become a lead teacher with the 2’s and 3’s. Showing interest beyond the classroom and in the business of how the school ran, Kevin soon became a Co-owner and Executive Director. The classroom is where Kevin is still most at ease and he can often be found reading to small groups, working in the block corner of teaching beetbox, a seed to table program, with the 4’s class. Kevin was born and raised in Queens N.Y. and resides in Norwalk Ct. with his wife Anna and their three children.
With his free time, Kevin enjoys skiing and camping with his family, volunteering in his community as a Committee Chair with Cub Scout Pack 97 and rooting on the N.Y. Giants.
Co-Owner & Educational Director
It was always Ellen’s dream to become an Educational Director. This is what led her to the amazing opportunity of opening The Park Preschool in 1989 with three other women. When the two other partners went on to pursue other careers, Kevin Artale, and Ellen Offen became The Park Preschool’s long-standing owners. As well as being co-owner, she is the Educational Director and functions as a liaison between all ISAAGNY schools and the families that wish to enroll their children in private on-going schools for. Ellen received her Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in Corrective Reading from Hunter College. She is a New York State certified teacher with over 28 years of Early Childhood Experience.
Khris Della Pace
We have had the privilege of having Khris Della Pace a part of The Park Preschool since January 1998. After spending a few years teaching in the classroom, she was offered the opportunity to expand her role as Admissions Director in 2000. This allowed her to connect directly with potential, current, and past parents and caregivers. It was through this that she gained a better understanding of the role The Park Preschool plays in fostering positive childhood experiences and closing the parent-teacher gap. Khris grew up in Baltimore, MD, graduated from Salisbury University and moved to New York in December 1997. She currently resides on the UWS with her husband and daughter. Khris’ daughter was “raised” at The Park Preschool. She attended PPS, volunteered as a young teenager and became an assistant teacher the summer before she left for Ithaca College where she is studying to be an Occupational Therapist. Khris enjoy celebrating the holidays with the children and is often in the classrooms making a holiday snack. St Patrick's Day is her favorite as she teaches the children the story of the naughty/nice Leprechaun who we still haven't caught yet! Khris looks forward to supporting and guiding you and your family as we embark on this new adventure together!
Our staff is a reflection of the diverse city we live in. We are fortunate to have many within our organization begin their careers here. Some have started with us as student teachers while pursuing their Associate Degree and have stayed well after earning their Masters Degree. One of the most important qualities we look for is not just a passion for teaching but a love of learning.
Here at The Park Preschool we are big proponents of Co-Teaching. To us, co-teaching is the sharing of responsibilities and ideas in the classroom. Our goal is to foster a sense of collaboration and inclusiveness between our staff.
